US LNG exports climb to 27 shipments

The agency said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 27 LNG vessels is 101 Bcf.

This compares to 22 shipments and 83 Bcf in the week ending October 16.

According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals were essentially unchanged this week at 13.7 Bcf/d.

Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased by 2.3% (0.2 Bcf/d) to 8.1 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas were essentially unchanged at 4.4 Bcf/d.

The agency also reported that natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast increased 0.2 Bcf/d to 1.2 Bcf/d.

During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped nine LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.

The Freeport LNG terminal and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal each shipped four cargoes, while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass facility and the Cove Point terminal each sent three cargoes during the week under review.

The Elba Island terminal did not export LNG during the week of October 17-23.

The Henry Hub spot price decreased 30 cents from $2.21 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $1.91/MMBtu this Wednesday.

Moreover, the price of the November 2024 NYMEX contract decreased 3 cents, from $2.367/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.342/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The agency said the price of the 12-month strip averaging November 2024 through October 2025 futures contracts rose 3 cents to $2.971/MMBtu.

The agency said that international natural gas futures were mixed this report week.

Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 28 cents to a weekly average of $13.45/MMBtu.

Natural gas futures for delivery at the Dutch TTF decreased 4 cents to a weekly average of $12.75/MMBtu.

The agency said that in the same week last year (week ending October 25, 2023), the prices were $18.21/MMBtu in East Asia and $15.65/MMBtu at TTF.
