

Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has won time charter extensions for two of its vessels with Solebay Shipping.
The first extension is for the 2007-built, 174,261 dwt capsize bulker Semirio. The gross charter rate is $16,650 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until a minimum of February 15, 2026, up to a maximum of April 15, 2026.
The new charter period is expected to begin on February 4, 2025. The extension dayrate is higher than the current rate of $14,150 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
The second extension is for the 2015-built, 60,309 dwt ultramax DSI Aquila. The gross charter rate is $12,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of a minimum of five months up to a maximum of seven months.
The new charter period is expected to begin on January 23, 2025. The extension dayrate is slightly lower than the current rate of $12,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
The employment extensions of the two vessels are anticipated to generate a total of approximately $7.52m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
