Commissioning service operation vessel owner Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) has secured a new contract for the charter of one of its vessels.

The contract was won by the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary IWS Fleet. The deal is for the IWS Starwalker CSOV and will last a fixed nine months. The charter also has a three-month extension option.

The vessel is the fourth out of the six Skywalker class CSOVs. The charter is scheduled to begin in mid-February 2025 for an existing client.

According to IWS, this contract represents about a 15% increase in the value of the backlog, based on the latest reported backlog from the third quarter of 2024.

“We see this charter contract for IWS Starwalker as confirmation from our core Tier 1 client that the Skywalker class vessels and their crew are performing to the highest standards regarding performance and reliability,” said Christopher Andersen Heidenreich, COO and managing director of IWS Fleet.

Last month, IWS secured a 12-month extension for the IWS Skywalker CSOV. The charter is scheduled to begin at the end of the second quarter of 2026, in direct continuation of the current charter contracts.
