What a great episode of THE CRUDE TRUTH. We talk with Geologist Trey Cortez of Burnett Oil. Watch as we discuss the Geology of Oil and Gas and the Geology of Whiskey. As Trey looks at rocks all day and wanted to know why the geologists in the field tend to drink whiskey. Rey and Trey have way to much fun understanding the relationship between the chemistry behind making whiskey and the water aquifer geological makeup around the manufacturing process.
From a geological standpoint, Trey works at Burnett Oil as a geologist, but with a twist. When looking at the seismic and log data through a statistical approach rather than a deterministic framework. Geology is a mystery, and geologists are always trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together for the engineers to get the oil out of the ground.
